What a trim and line-up actually is
Two things happen. The trim takes the beard down to an even length and keeps the shape balanced with your jaw, so it does not end up heavy in one corner. The line-up is the edge work: the cheek line, the neckline under the jaw and the corners of the moustache, cut straight so the beard looks deliberate instead of grown-out. Say up front how much length you want gone - it is much easier to take more off than to put it back.
Pairing it with the rest of the menu
Most people take the beard with a cut. A haircut is $30 on the menu, a fade is a $5 add-on, and the beard trim is the +$10. If that is your usual order, the Gold package at $45 covers the haircut and the beard together. Eyebrow trim and razor shaping is $10 on its own, and Platinum at $50 puts the haircut, beard and eyebrows in one sitting. Silver at $40 is the haircut with eyebrows if the beard is not part of it.
